Initial drive on all models was by a long-lived toothed drive belt. Two very useful feature of this lathe were the excellent spread of speeds. 2 Morse taper. 305 mm of clearance between spindle nose and table. The design not only allowed the slide to rotate through 360 degrees. Rather small zeroing micrometer dials were fitted. I had a problem with my old lathe - oil thrower will not stop lubricant leaking into the electric motor.
